Ardington House Wedding Photography-Charlotte and Jake
A summer wedding at a luxury sole use wedding venue in South Oxfordshire

Our first wedding of a very busy August 2025 took us to the wonderful Ardington House for the wedding of Charlotte and Jake.
Ardington House is in the south of Oxfordshire, close to Wantage. Built in 1720, this Georgian manor is has a timeless elegance, and is surrounded by stunning gardens, parkland and a small river that winds gently by the venue. A sole use venue, the house itself allows a couple to stay the night before with immediate family members, and to get ready in a relaxed way without having to move location for the wedding. There are 12 bedrooms, accommodating 23 guests, or 25 with children. The river forms a small island which is a perfect spot for an outdoor wedding; guests arrive at the main house before making their way to the island for the ceremony, before returning to the main gardens for drinks, canapes and group photos. The wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing take place at in a marquee close to the island.
Ardington House is a perfect location for a couple who want to get married in a wonderful country house location that feels intimate but yet relaxed, with an experienced team that run proceedings with a light touch.
For Charlotte and Jake’s wedding, both bride and groom were getting ready in (separate!) rooms in the house. As usual, Sam photographed the bridal preparations, whilst Steve was with the groomsmen and also photographing guest arrivals. When it was time for the ceremony, Steve made his way to the island with Jake and the guests, to be in position for when Charlotte was escorted down the isle by her brother. Sam photographed the ceremony from the back, to get our usual two angles of the wedding, before we all headed up to the rear gardens of the house for confetti, drinks, and a few group photos. A beautiful evening gave us an opportunity for some brief golden hour photos, and Steve took the opportunity to take a creative off camera flash shot in the stunning temple on the island before we signed off for the day.
Charlotte and Jake’s wedding was such a lovely day and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph.
